Rain: What a Concept

It's raining here in Phoenix and this isn't some not some mere cloudburst or a drizzle, but a nice, steady rain.

If you think that's no big deal, go without rain for over 142 days.

I had hopes yesterday while driving through the Verde Valley. The mountains were cloudy and the rain was starting. Highway workers were putting sand on the steep climb that you take up the mountain.

By the time, however, such memorable places as Badger Springs and Big Bug Creek were reached, the skies were clear.
