American Heritage traces the history of Alcoholics Anonymous, the most successful group in the battle against alcoholism.
A friend of mine who is active in the group once laughed about its unlikely success, noting it's an organization that's highly decentralized, meets in church and hospital basements, and is run by a bunch of drunks.
Taken from a traditional management perspective, it shouldn't work.
But it does.
