Odd political races update:
In addition to Kinky Friedman, state comptroller Grandma Strayhorn may be in the race for governor of Texas. [NOTE: The link to the Grandma story was wrong earlier. It has been corrected. Mea culpa.]
Using "Grandma" as a title/nickname apparently appeals to voters.
Nice try, but it doesn't beat Kinky.
Friedman has had two slogans: Why the hell not? and How hard could it be?
