Preference Cases to be Heard

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to hear two cases regarding whether race can be considered in high school admissions.

I fear that if racial preferences are permitted to promote diversity, we will have taken another large step, first taken by the Court in the Michigan law school case, toward removing the stigma of racial discrimination. By doing so, the political support of equal opportunity laws will be severely eroded. It will be an example of the law of unintended consequences. (No pun intended.)
