What I most admired about Cannonball Run II was the way its studiously substandard cast of performers kept getting relief from even worse reinforcements. It was as if the federal government, fearing an alien invasion, had financed a movie that could be shipped into Outer Space as proof that no intelligent life form could survive on this planet.
