Teaching and Reminding.

I gave a speech on Tuesday, taught a class on leadership yesterday, and am teaching another class on EEO today.

I learn a great deal from my students; possibly because so many of them have years of experience and insight. They raise questions and argue various points. Only rarely do I encounter someone who is unpleasant although you can tell a few are carrying significant problems.

To steal a concept from Samuel Johnson, teaching is often reminding. They often know the right thing to do, only they have forgotten it. The same thing happens to me. I read a management book or article and think, "I knew that. Why haven't I been doing it?"

Workshops are like booster shots. We get the malaria injection and then go off to explore the jungle.
