Unintended Consequences

Fear of producing a lawsuit
leads to a lack of candor which
leads to suspicion which
leads to a decline in trust which
leads to ascribing bad motives to otherwise defensible actions which
leads to a lawsuit.

A desire to be right
leads to a refusal to admit mistakes which
leads to a lack of credibility which
leads to a general perception
that you are not right
even though you often are.

A wish to control
produces a huge body of rules which
leads to a desire to escape restrictions which
leads to the identification of loopholes which
leads to a loss of control.
