Great Class Members

Great class members:

  1. Are in their seats on time.
  2. Bring a pen or pencil and a notepad.
  3. Turn off their cell phones.
  4. Are physically alert and prepared to learn.
  5. Listen for the main points.
  6. Ask short and relevant questions, if they have any.
  7. Ask for clarification if they don't understand.
  8. Save specialized questions for after class.
  9. Take good notes.
  10. Have done their homework.
  11. Consider other points of view.
  12. Are polite and considerate of others.
  13. Don't text-message. (See #3.)
  14. Don't use computers unless the instructor agrees.
  15. Don't distract from the class.
  16. Seek to learn the subject and not just complete the class.
  17. Develop a passion for learning.

Michael - great list. I'd also suggest this list also applies to those attending meetings, or the members of the audience for a speaker presentation too.

Richard,

Thanks. I agree with your suggestion. A good audience can raise the quality of a presentation and certainly a meeting.
