- Turn off their cell phones.
- Are physically alert and prepared to learn.
- Listen for the main points.
- Ask short and relevant questions, if they have any.
- Ask for clarification if they don't understand.
- Save specialized questions for after class.
- Take good notes.
- Have done their homework.
- Consider other points of view.
- Are polite and considerate of others.
- Don't text-message. (See #3.)
- Don't use computers unless the instructor agrees.
- Don't distract from the class.
- Seek to learn the subject and not just complete the class.
- Develop a passion for learning.

Michael - great list. I'd also suggest this list also applies to those attending meetings, or the members of the audience for a speaker presentation too.
Richard,
Thanks. I agree with your suggestion. A good audience can raise the quality of a presentation and certainly a meeting.
