Spin and Duck Soup
An executive can look the part, possess eloquence, exude an aura of cool, assemble a circle of experienced advisors, have a fancy office, fly around making speeches, hire silver-tongued spin-doctors who will argue that any failure is really sort of a success, create a personal following, and wow the credulous, but the lack of results has a way of accumulating to the point where it is undeniable.
Even so, you can usually count on the executive echoing the classic line from Duck Soup: "Who you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?"
But remember the Groupon CEO's commendable exception?
