Bad Day or Good One?
Bad days are usually associated with loss but they can also arrive with gain. You "gained" a new employee who will turn into a nightmare. You "gained" a program which will drain resources and time with vampire-like intensity. A questionable ally was "gained." So was a dubious victory.
It may take years before the real gains can be sorted out from the false ones. Many a bottle of champagne has been popped over a disaster and the people conducting the celebration were its victims.
