Quote of the Day

In a high-trust relationship, you can say the wrong thing, and people will still get your meaning. In a low-trust relationship, you can be very measured, even precise, and they'll still misinterpret you

- Stephen M. R. Covey

I'm sure Covey knew the truth of this better than most. His Seven Habits was/is a lay description of Mormon beliefs and practices. It was one of the most challenging and helpful of all the self-help books I read years ago.

Only later did I learn of the Mormon connection. I'm guessing thar years of "missionary" work, going door-to-door presenting their message to endless strangers, is a communications lesson far more effective than any book or classroom can teach.

John,

You're thinking of Stephen R. Covey, the father.

The quote I posted is by his son and is found in his book, "The Speed of Trust."

I've also found The Seven Habits book to be very helpful.

Thanks. Got it.
It's been a lot of years since I was into self-help stuff. After a while I decided I was beyond help!
