I remember Michael Kinsley using similar interview tactics with Buckley on Firing Line when he would moderate. I thoroughly enjoyed the exchange.

Kurt,

I just got Peterson's new book and am looking forward to reading it.

What surprised me in the video with Cathy Newman was she didn't adjust her strategy. She continued to put her head down and run into the wall. I wonder if she was under the impression that she was scoring points.

Hammer gonna hammer. Didn't have another approach.

Kurt,

That may be the reason.

Although at first I thought it was the worst interview ever, it did press Peterson to elucidate his views better than I've seen before, so now I think that was his best interview. Which I have re-watched and shared with others.

Just bought his book today too!

Bloggosphereo,

It wound up being a very informative interview.

Re anonymous commenting: I understand the hassle. What caused me to switch was I was getting swamped - and I mean really inundated - with spam and bot-driven comments that took a lot of my time to delete and, if published, would have driven off legitimate comments. There was also the occasional "rude crank" anonymous comment but most blogs get those. The main problem was with the spammers.

I will check into some options.

Thanks for commenting.
