Hope or Eurabia?

It should be encouraging to see that a committee associated with the European Parliament has sponsored a conference on how to counter Muslim extremism, but this entire article seems to gloss over the following:

  • The extremism of the Muslim youth in Europe;
  • The aging non-Muslim population and the welfare state dependence upon immigration if it is to maintain benefits for that population;
  • The resistance to changes, such as the employment at will proposals in France, that would open job opportunities to unemployed Muslims;
  • The use of physical coercion by Muslim fanatics to silence Muslim moderates;
  • The reluctance of moderate Muslims - unlike their Christian and Jewish equivalents - to condemn extremism of their co-religionists;
  • The willingness of the European Left to accept free speech restrictions in the name of multiculturalism; and
  • The fact that Europe is a target of Muslim extremist groups.
