A fascinating story: an on-line game called the Hollywood Stock Exchange permits players to predict whether a movie will be a success and win fake money. The game, however, has more serious ramifications as it obtains demographic information and becomes an indirect and valuable survey device.
Other companies can use similar games to let their workers "bet" on the success or failure of various products.
