The Group

"You're not going to believe what one guy wanted us to sign. There's this musical group, see?"

"A group? Doesn't he know that groups are dead? That Elvis finished them off?"

"Yeah, well, I guess he didn't get the telegram. But he's pushing this rock band and guess where it's from?"

"California? New York? Jersey? Come on, tell me."

"England."

"Oh, this is sounding real promising. British accents and all that. I'm picturing Terry Thomas and Robert Morley."

"It gets better. The guy says that they wear special suits without collars. No, seriously. Stop laughing. He really likes them. And they have long hair that's sort of cut in a bowl-shape."

"Like Moe of The Three Stooges?"

"Well, yeah. I suppose so. Stop laughing. And they sing love songs."

"Where has this great obscure group been playing?"

"He says they've played in a lot of German nightclubs."

"Germany? Please tell me you didn't sign them."

"Don't worry. I saved the best for last. You're going to love their name. I'll give you a hint. Think 'bugs.'"

"Get out of here."
