Memory
It can be a word, a smell, or the way the sky looks. A line in a book may do it or the expression on someone's face. Little is needed to trigger a memory and suddenly you are back years, many years, ago.
This morning, a simple sentence did the trick and I was in Germany, going over the Rhine, looking out at the gray and wondering about a meeting involving an investigation at an Army field office.
Just one sentence.
