Real Dangers

Any list of the real dangers in life would include elements of the following:

  • Envy. Many, if not most, of those whom we envy have problems we cannot perceive.
  • Indiscretion. Being indiscreet is one of the fastest ways to end a career and destroy a reputation.
  • Fear. One of our greatest limitations is an inordinate fear of what others will think. Fear of failure and fear of success are related to this. Can fear be helpful? Certainly, but it can also be a heavy set of chains.
  • Arrogance. The best leaders and the best people have a genuine sense of humility.
  • Isolation. The person, village, or nation that is isolated, especially through choice, is unlikely to grow.
