Bear Hug
"Don't take it personally. This simply is the way we arrange things. It has been that way for years and it will be that way long after both of us have departed. You are not the first person to raise objections and we want you to know your thoughts have been carefully considered. In fact, over the next few months you'll see a few things here or there which you'll immediately know came from your proposal. In the meantime, we want to put your creativity to work. The formal announcement will go out this afternoon but you'll be heading a new project the CEO strongly favors. This will mean a larger staff and there's some extra money in it but you'll probably be more excited by the chance to stretch your legs, so to speak. Oh, and there's also a new office."

Insidious. Is that kind of thing common?
Daniel,
I don't think it is common but it happens.
Michael
I don't get it?
