Personality Changes
It is hardly profound to note that individuals who are energetic, patient, driven, detached or intellectually curious may not remain that way, The ambitious person who seeks success may begin to have doubts and slow down or move in another direction just as the finish line comes within sight. The person who is patient may deplete that quality and, as progress lags, become highly impatient. As Herbert Stein famously noted, "If something cannot go on forever, it will stop."
The mistake is to assume that Jack or Mary will always be the way they've been up to this point. Conversely, it is wise to be on the watch for signs that a hitherto predominant characteristic may be changing to a lesser version or even its opposite.
People can switch dramatically. After all, there is a basis for the saying: "Beware the anger of the patient man.".
