Increasingly, the airlines. On a recent delayed and delayed and delayed flight out of Knoxville I decided to change my driving rule. Previously, I told myself that six hours is the drive time after which flying can save time. Some recent trips have made me move that to 8 hours UNLESS it is a Southwest flight.

Kurt,

The same thing happened to me a few years ago when I was stranded in an airport.

Having control of when you leave greatly reduces stress.
