Feelers

Have you ever encountered people who justify their conduct on the basis of their feelings?

"I didn't feel like it."

"Oh, then that's fine. A responsibility or duty was not fulfilled because you didn't feel like it. Those who rely on that fulfillment should simply realize that it was postponed or erased because you weren't in the mood."

There are millions of people who show up on time, work, struggle, practice, encourage, support, sweat, bleed, sacrifice, win, and lose despite their feelings. They don't consult their mood before doing what needs to be done.

Thank God for them.

To them I usually respond with something along the lines of:
"I didn't feel like paying you today."
