The Executive Staff Meeting

One often-overlooked aspect of executive staff meetings is that it is an opportunity for the chief executive officer to acquaint vice presidents and department directors with the scope of the CEO's duties. Many CEOs are reluctant to adopt that approach because they believe that people will be bored by topics that are not of general interest. That is a valid concern and yet a limited glimpse at other issues can send an important message: the CEO has more and bigger concerns than just your own.
