Compared to What?

I'm close to completing a review of some material on an alternative to a traditional strategy which an organization has followed for many years. The "rebels" supporting the alternative did a good job of demonstrating that a change is needed. They've set forth the advantages of their proposed strategy.

That is very good.

But they have only discredited the traditional option. They haven't discussed other possible options.

And the unsettling thing in my eyes is that there is good reason to believe that one of those unexplored options would be superior to their own.

Not one of the parties is a client of mine but my analysis continues.

Now you know how I spend weekends.
