Commentary by Michael Wade on Leadership, Ethics, Management, and Life
I've been a napper since I was a teenager. I've learned that I'm much more productive if I devote the afternoon to work that doesn't require lots of thought and if I insert a short (20 minutes or so) nap in there as well. I usually have a nip of caffeine before the nap since it takes 20 minutes for the caffeine to kick in. One of the wonderful things about working for myself is that I can nap every day, more than once if I choose. Sometimes it's the only way to break a mental logjam.
Wally,I'm a real believer in naps. It's amazing how quickly even a ten minute nap can recharge the brain. Churchill used a regular nap as a way to gain the strength to put two work days into one.
