As you know, today's Arizona news has been the national news.
"Sad" does not begin to describe it. Gabriel Giffords has been a well-respected and extremely popular political figure; truly the last type of person you would expect to be a victim of such an attack. As the facts emerge, the word "senseless" seems more and more apt.
Pray for all of the victims.

I'd never heard of her before today, being in the Northeast (and in a cave, apparently) but as of today I'm a fan of hers. My sympathies to you in AZ for your losses due to this tragic attack.
