Diversion

I will now do something other than what I want to accomplish so my mind will drift naturally to what I want to accomplish. It is strange how diverting attention from A to B can so easily bring thoughts back to A.

I am working on A by not working on A.

I just started reading your blog Michael and I really like this post. Often the business world is gogogog!! But I have found that the best companies and the most productive workers know how to relax. Granting yourself time to relax, meditate, or just day drem inhances creativity, motivation, and inspiration. I do find however that having no expectations helps. For example if you divert attention to B only to get back to A it is not as rejuvinating as if you think about B for the sake of B.

Jacob,

That's a very good point. You have to be genuinely shifting your attention so thoughts of the original project creep up on you. If that is not done, there is no fresh thinking.

Thanks!
