Good leadership restrains bad management. Good management can do the same for poor leadership.

Most of us can think of times we have noticed this with others. A leader may foil the efforts of lethargic bureaucrats. A manager may bring a poor leader's hopeless goals down to earth.

What we don't tend to recognize is how often that battle occurs within ourselves.
