Brutal

SEATTLE—Calling his résumé “exceptional” and “like nothing we’ve ever seen,” the human resources department at local public relations firm Brink & Tiller called 22-year-old job applicant Corey Wilhelm immediately after noticing he had a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, sources confirmed Wednesday.

That was hilarious! And, I can absolutely relate...

In my current role, I have the unique pleasure (and I'm being sincere) of directly hiring and working with co-op students.

I get to work for 2-3 months at a time with pre-professionals, while not having to worry about writing a syllabus and grading term papers. Best of both worlds!

Anyway, I digress...

This means I spend a lot of time looking at "little (or no) experience" resumes. Sometimes I see some really awful resumes, too. Many times, I'm left wondering who is coaching these students on writing resumes, and if they've ever actually worked in the private sector.
