When Years Fly: A Strategy
When my daughter started high school, I told her that she was going to be surprised at how fast it would go. I made the same brilliant observation when she started college but by then she was starting to notice.
There are entire decades that I wonder about. Was I around and merely unobservant or is there more to the alien abduction stories than we're willing to admit? This year shot from January to June and then we emerged from our coma in September. It will be New Year's Eve in around three weeks.
All the more reason to slow down. Savor that cup of coffee. Go look at the clouds. Pick up a novel - anything by Dickens or Trollope will do nicely - that was written for slow readers. Study the use of words. Keep a dictionary nearby. Learn the names of trees and birds.
Stop rushing. You'll get there soon enough.
