Carbon paper. Ask a young office supply store associate for it and feel instantly old...especially when he asks, "What's a typewriter?"

Crusty,

Great addition! I found myself telling a young person to send a carbon copy of a letter. The response was a blank stare.

CincyCat,

I can imagine the looks you get with that.

Running boards, chamber pots, drive-in movies, bit and brace, fuse box, mimeograph, hectograph.

John,

Great list!

I tried explaining a mimeograph to a young person the other day without sounding ultra-primitive.

I didn't succeed.

Love the picture. I still have my bamboo Post Versalog 1460 slide rule with carrying case and belt loop attachment. Imagine the level of geekyness required to strap that baby on!

Larry,

I still have a slide rule that I used in high school.

Very high tech.

It's not going anywhere.
