Slow Reading

If you are not a speed reader, don't worry:

"There is no such thing as speed reading," says Keith Rayner a cognitive psychologist at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. "Not if your definition of reading is comprehending text." Studies show that fast readers fare worse than slower ones when questioned about the text. So, to get smarter, slow down.

As a speed reading expert, I understand this thought. However, if a person can learn to double their reading speed (which is easily possible), they will gain more concentration, which results in ore comprehension and then retention. My newest book "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Speed Reading" explains more on this. It is due out June 3.

I'll look forward to reading that.[The title already appeals to me!]

Thanks!
