Learning About People

Quick question: If you had to recommend three novels to a young person who wanted to learn about people, which ones would you name?

My picks:
  • War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • The Edge of Sadness by Edwin O'Connor

Bonnie,

Great list. Frankl's book, of course, although not a novel, certainly reveals a lot about people. Certain scenes are unforgettable.

I have to confess that I've never read "The Idiot" but, thanks to your recommendation, I will.
