NIght

I read somewhere that Napoleon would work nonstop for days and then collapse.

Sounds reasonable to me.

I wish I could do that. Some of my best thinking is at night but in order to avoid insomnia, I shift into a number of mellow routines shortly before bed. No Stephen King novels. No inspirational business books that will have me scrawling on note cards. Only quiet stuff. Everything in its place and at its proper time. [The days of college all-nighters on Roman history or comparative government are long gone.]

Reality reminds us that of the most under-rated activities in the world is sleep, sweet sleep.

After all, look what happened to Napoleon.
