The Subterranean Office Blues



  • She thought they wanted to expand the business. They thought it should remain small. 
  • He shared information. They hoarded it. 
  • She wanted to act. They wanted to analyze and analyze and analyze. 
  • He labored to create a real team. They wanted one on paper. 
  • She regarded customers as the reason for the entire operation. They regarded customers as interruptions. 
  • He saw results as essential. They felt results were optional. 
  • She looked for things to improve. They believed there was no room for improvement.
  • He usually said what he thought. They were seldom candid.
All of them had the same mission statement posted in their offices.
