- I won't go to the doctor's office until I feel better. [Besides, they may find something wrong with me.]
- I won't talk to my boss (or employee) about my anger. I'll just nurse it and watch our relationship decline.
- I won't tell my supervisor about what my team has achieved because I hate to boast but I'll be very upset if I get passed over for promotion.
- I'll rationalize not taking actions which I know will benefit me and instead will pretend that somehow they wouldn't benefit me.
- I cherish my grievances because they make me feel superior.
- I'll let time transform my valuable experience from a ladder to a trap.
