The other day a friend mentioned that a close member of his social circle had passed away. I'd heard of the person and by all accounts she was remarkable and yet that was not what lingered with me. She'd spent her final years in a very small town in Arizona but that was only a portion of an extraordinary life in which he had met Queen Elizabeth, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Charles de Gaulle, Lyndon Johnson, and Field Marshal Montgomery.
You never know what stories are contained in the person across the room.
