Finding the Theme

I'm working on a major proposal for a client. This involves going through the boilerplate language of the Request for Proposal in order to find the real information, outlining the essentials, and then developing the theme of our proposal.

The theme is the tree trunk. Everything else will fall on one branch or another so the theme is vital and it must be intellectually coherent. Fortunately, it concerns a topic which I've thought about for around - no exaggeration here - 30 years and so I've some views on the matter. The challenge is to make sure that those views are as clear to the reader as they are second-nature to me and to show how they will best serve the needs of the client.

Think. Think. Scribble. Scribble. And then think some more.
