The Valentine State

Permit me to indulge in a little local history. On Valentine's Day in 1912, Arizona left its territorial status and became a state. [My grandfather voted for statehood and since I'm extremely young that should tell you how this is still a relatively new part of the Union.]

We were "the Baby State" until Hawaii and Alaska, those late-comers, joined the ranks.
