March Air
I took the dog for a walk this evening. The air was filled with the scent of orange blossoms. There was some rain yesterday, just in time for the monthly yard irrigation, and there were some dark clouds in the distance tonight.
It is March and the leaves are back on most of the trees although some, such as the Natchez Crepe Myrtle in my back yard, are stragglers.
There is something life-affirming in the smell of orange blossoms. It ranks right up there with the scent of gardenias and perhaps even approaches the aroma of creosote after a desert rain.
Correction: Nothing approaches the aroma of creosote after a desert rain.
