The New Reading Habits
Andrew Munro's Blog points to an article on reading habits in today's world.
I think the success of Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall novels indicates that we have not yet succumbed to a short attention span.
There is often a drift in the direction of short and fast thrillers and then a book such as The Name of the Rose comes along and becomes a hit, possibly because it does require some heavy lifting.
