In the course of our careers, most of us walk past people who could provide invaluable guidance and insight. We do so not because we are too proud to ask for advice or because we think we have all the answers or are too busy.
We do so because we do not think to ask in the first place.
Those "knowledge opportunities" are easy to overlook if you're not looking for them.
