My own view? It's a vile crime. He tried to elude justice. He deserves the appropriate penalties. And the fact that he is a highly talented film director is irrelevant.

I have to agree with you Michael, there really is no excuse for him not to face the music.

I find it difficult to understand why we are supposed to wink at a flight from justice.
