Looking Around

There are scenes in novels and films that spark reactions such as "Don't go in that room," "Don't walk down that street," and "Don't leave the trail."

They involve an innocent who knows less than the observer and only later learns that the jungle is not a good place for a tea party unless a couple of elephant guns are within reach.

I'm been thinking lately about the extent to which we delude ourselves by assuming that certain aspects of the workplace are logical and orderly. Chaos doesn't break out. Order breaks out. And the sooner we acknowledge the almost inherent disorder that exists under a thin veil of systems, the clearer view we'll have of reality.

Still thinking. Will report results later.
