I've written before about how Friday is my favorite day of the week.
There is work, of course, but it is done with a safety net. The slight anticipation of something different adds to the day. At the same time, it does not bring the frenzied activity that seizes one on the day before a vacation. [If we were always as productive as we are on those days, we'd probably be dead.]
Fridays are for fixing and planning. We fix what went wrong earlier and we plan for the coming week. I've long advised managers to get a weekly update from their direct reports every Friday morning so Friday afternoon is available to address anything weird.
So here I am, sipping strong coffee from the red "Keep Calm and Carry On" mug that was the Nicholas Bate Award [photo pending] and preparing, in part, to call Eric Rodarte, computer wizard, because my laptop computer has been infected by sociopaths.
It's Friday. We can deal with it.
