Who are the Major American Writers Today?

I'm returning to a subject that continues to perplex me. It's very easy to list excellent British novelists today. [Rose Tremain and Hilary Mantel come quickly to mind.] Since Saul Bellow and John Updike died, who are the major American writers?

When I was in high school, we were reading Hemingway, Faulkner, and Steinbeck. Can you list three current American writers who will be read 100 years from now?

I hope we will be reading Harrison.
