That car we think is one of the ugliest ever made? A lot of people believe it is beautiful. The jerk at work probably has an adoring family. Bookstores contain stacks of terrible novels that far outsell our favorites. Have you ever watched daytime television? No further comment need be made. It is hardly a revelation that empty suits are frequently elected to high office and that many of Hollywood's marginal performers had coffee this morning while watching the waves from their deck in Malibu.
