Old Main

Today I attended a meeting at Old Main on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson. Part of the agenda involved a presentation by an architect who was instrumental in the building's restoration.

The building first opened in 1891 for six students. The architects involved with the restoration kept coming across various quirks - they learned that dirt was used for insulation for the floors between the various levels - and stories of ghosts were revived by the new workers.

I had some ghosts of my own. The meeting was held in a room where I first studied military science.

It is much fancier now.
