It struck me today that I personally know three, and possibly five, people who would make better presidents than three of our recent presidents and several of the current candidates.
[That latter group makes it easy.]
These people are scattered around the country and are very well informed. They work in different lines of work but I would feel completely comfortable with any one of them in the Oval Office.
We have a deep bench. The trick is getting them onto the field. And no, I don't believe money is the main obstacle. Consider all of the other reasons why well-qualified people might not want to run for office.
