I'll bet that if you'd gotten a small group of cab drivers, accountants, emergency room nurses, police sergeants, barbers, small town lawyers, and secretaries together, they would have said that rapidly letting massive numbers of immigrants into your nation without considering the question of assimilation might not be a great idea.
I'll bet they would have come up with a better plan than the one you adopted.
That's assuming you had a plan.
