The Polls

As I read the polls - and they've been all over the place - by the end of the day we could be looking at a Barack Obama landslide, a comfortable Obama win or a history-making upset victory by John McCain.

Whether the winner is named Barack or John, he will have earned some respect and a honeymoon period.

It will be sooo nice to have this election behind us.

I voted this morning. Waited one half hour. When I had voted, I felt better. In my mind it was over.
I ran for public office once and felt the same way even though I knew that I wouldn't know the results until later that evening (fortunately for me the results were good).
It is a good feeling to have the task completed and I too am glad to have this over.

It will be very pleasant to get it out of the way.

I voted early by mail and found the experience to be much less satisfying than going to the polls.
